Our next Sipping Sessions is Wednesday, September 12th. It will be hosted by the one and only Melissa Myers. This month we are focusing on Ambers and Reds. Sasquatch Release Party - Ninkasi Legacy Project

Sasquatch is coming to The Good Hop on Wednesday, September 5th! Join us to taste this elusive and mysterious beer, and "cheers" with some of the brewers.

Brewed in collaboration with Glen Hay Falconer Foundation Scholarship recipients, this year’s Sasquatch Legacy beer is a fruity and subtly spicy Saison, dry hopped with Ella hops. Pouring golden in color, this collaboration beer features an uplifting grapefruit hop aroma with hints of spice.

Proceeds benefit the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation’s brewing scholarship program. To date, the Foundation has granted 40 brewing education scholarships and currently offers three scholarships annually, two to the Siebel Institute of Technology and one to the American Brewers Guild.

Started by Walking Man Brewing in 2006, the Sasquatch Legacy Project transitioned to Ninkasi Brewing in 2012. Each year, Glen Hay Falconer Scholarship recipients gather in Eugene to brew a commemorative batch in honor of the late brewer, Glen Hay Falconer. This year’s beer was developed by the 2017 scholarship recipients: Jen Jordan of Anchor Brewing Company, Aaron Blonden of Chainline Brewing Company, Alyson Hartwig formerly of Dry Dock Brewing Company, and Matt Ponichtera of Maui Brewing Co.

Drink for a Cause! Bridges Myanmar Benefit

Drink for a cause with the #TGHCrew at The Good Hop next Thursday, August 9th!

One of our bartenders, Cory McGarvey, has been travelling to Myanmar every year with his non-profit Bridges Myanmar. Their mission is to uplift impoverished communities in Myanmar through partnerships and education. Through their travels and by working with local leaders and members of the local communities, they identify needs and raise money to implement project-based programs that address these needs. Examples include computers and supplies for local schools, educational scholarships and much more.

We think this is pretty amazing work, and we're gonna help raise some money at The Good Hop in support of Bridges Myanmar.

Join us from 5pm - close on Thursday, August 9th. Proceeds from selected kegs will go directly to the cause! Cory will also be hosting a raffle and silent auction with some really cool stuff - vintage bottles, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, brewery schwag, and souvenirs/handmade crafts from Myanmar.

Cheers, and see you there!

4th Anniversary Dad Joke Invitational at The Good Hop

It's our 4th Anniversary this year at The Good Hop! For our Anniversary weekend, in addition to our annual HopFest (Sat 6/16), we're hosting our first ever Bad Dad Joke Competition! It's no coincidence that this falls on Father's Day. So, this Father's Day we will be celebrating all the terribly cringe-worthy and ridiculously corny "dad" jokes that have gotten us all through the years.

Participating breweries will be sending a carefully selected representative to bring their best (worst?) jokes. Want in on the fun? Think you've got what it takes? Sign up when you arrive! We will be pitting people one-on-one in a face-off that involves rapid-fire jokes paired with a stoic resolve to NOT LAUGH. Once someone laughs, they are out, and the next team will jump in. First come, first serve spots will be open for folks who want to throw their hat in the ring! Competition starts at 3pm.

Of course, we will be pouring delicious beers from the participating breweries, and hanging out with the crews throughout the afternoon. Join us! I mean, what better way to celebrate Father's Day than with good beers and bad jokes?
